How do I book a portrait?
Secure your spot with a €200 non-refundable deposit. This deposit ensures your place in my schedule and reserves time just for you. By booking your spot, I turn down other substantial and important projects to dedicate myself to your portrait. For this reason, the deposit is non-refundable.
Once you book your spot, I will send you an email with all the details about your order, including what I’ll need from you and when I’ll need it. This will help you prepare for your turn on the list.
What do you need from me if I want a portrait?
After you’ve paid your deposit, I need some photos of the subject you wish to have a portrait of, this could be a dog, a cat, a horse, a person, a bird etc. Or a combination of many.
You don’t need to provide photos and details at the time of booking. These can be submitted as soon as two months before your turn arrives. Photos should show your subject (pets, people, or others) from different angles, but don’t worry about perfection—I’ll guide you if needed. Share anything special about their personality or story to make the portrait meaningful.
When it’s your turn, I’ll create mockups using your photos, exploring compositions, perspectives, and up to 50 background options. You’ll choose the design that best suits your subject and your space.
How does the payment work?
Booking a place in the waiting list requires a 200€ down payment. When it’s your turn, I’ll create mockups using your photos, exploring compositions, perspectives, and up to 50 background options. You’ll choose the design that best suits your subject and your space. After you confirm the mock-up and the portrait size you like, the remaining balance is due. Payments can be made via Card, PayPal, Bank Transfer, or Bizum.
Once the full payment is received, I’ll start the painting process, carefully bringing your vision to life with attention to every detail.
Does my portrait come with a background?
Yes, the price of the portraits includes a gradient background featuring one or two colors. Before I begin the original artwork, I’ll share a PDF with several mockups based on the photos you provide, showcasing a variety of background tones such as blues, greens, browns, and more—offering up to 50 different options!
If you’d like a more complex background, the price will increase accordingly. For instance, if you envision your pet near a river, in a forest, or relaxing on your sofa at home, or perhaps a portrait of your daughter sitting in a field of flowers—anything is possible! The price adjustment will depend on the complexity of your idea.
I don’t have a picture of my pets together, can you work from individual photos?
Yes! Most of the multiple subject portraits you see in my gallery and social media have been created using different individual photos combined together in a mock up. Before creating the original I will create a mock up combining the different individual photos you provide so you get an idea of how the subjects will look together. I will try different compositions and perspectives for you to choose from
How should I frame my portrait when I receive it?
When you receive your portrait, it will include a detailed “Art Care Instructions” sheet, providing clear guidelines on how to handle and care for your artwork. Your portrait should be framed under glass with a framing mount (referred to as a framing mat in some countries). It’s important to have your portrait custom-framed by a professional framing shop, as they will use the appropriate materials to ensure it is properly sealed and protected. For the best preservation, frame your portrait soon after receiving it to prevent potential damage from accidents, humidity, or dust.
Shipping & Returns
How long does it take to finish a portrait?
The time to complete a portrait depends on its complexity. First, you’ll need to wait for the time specified on the waiting list. For example, if you booked for next year, you’ll wait those months until your turn comes.
Once your turn arrives and we begin the portrait, the timeframe can vary. A simpler individual portrait may take about a month to complete, while larger or more complex portraits with multiple subjects can take over four months. I’ll keep you updated throughout the process to ensure you’re informed at every step.
How long does it take for my portrait to arrive?
After your portrait is complete, I’ll ship it to you securely. Your portrait will have it’s own tracking number. For USA & Europe it takes 2 days. For Canada and Asia takes 3 to 4 days. For South America and Australia takes 4 to 5 days.
How much is shipping?
The price for shipping one individual portraits is always 50€ for anywhere in the world regardless of the size. If you are ordering more than one portrait, the price might be different.

About my Art
What materials do you use?
For the surface, I prefer sanded paper, specifically Pastelmat by Clairefontaine in the dark grey color. For pencils, I use pastel pencils from various brands, including Faber-Castell Pitt, Stabilo Carbothello, Derwent, Caran d’Ache, and Bruynzeel. Since pastel pencils have a limited range of colors, I rely on multiple brands to achieve the tonalities I need. If you’re just starting out, I recommend Stabilo Carbothello as a good option to begin with.
I also incorporate soft pastels for my base layers, primarily using brands like Rembrandt, Unison Colour, and Schmincke. As for where I buy my supplies, I typically order from artemiranda.es and mundo-artistas.es.
How long have you been painting?
I’ve been painting since I was a child. I was the kind of kid who could spend hours filling notebooks and sketching on any surface I could find. As a teenager, I attended art school, where I learned the fundamentals of art. I had amazing teachers and experimented with a variety of mediums, both dry and wet, which greatly influenced my work.
Professionally, I’ve been painting since 2014.
Do you teach?
Do you use fixative?
No, never! Fixatives introduce chemicals to the pastel, which can ruin its purity and affect its quality over time. They can cause yellowing or alter the appearance of the pigments.
I work on Pastelmat Board, which is a surface that doesn’t require fixative.
How do you sharpen your pencils?
I sharpen my pencils primarily with a utility knife, as it gives me precise control. I also use the M+R sharpener (the round one with two inserts) for convenience. However, the blades need frequent replacement since pencils dull them quickly. For consistent sharpness, I recommend using tools with replaceable blades.
How long does a portrait take?
The time varies depending on the size and complexity of the portrait. Smaller portraits can take anywhere from 30 to 40 hours, while larger, more detailed ones can take 80 to 100 hours or more, especially if they involve multiple subjects or intricate details.
Every portrait is unique, and I track the hours spent on each one to understand how much time each project requires.
What are those white lines that stay behind the base layers of your pastel?
The white lines you’re noticing come from the tracing paper I use. I create my sketches on rough paper and then transfer them to my painting surface using Seral tracing paper.
These lines show through because I press too hard while transferring the sketch. Other artists I know use the same tracing paper, and this doesn’t happen to them, so I believe it’s purely a matter of pressure.
