This means the portrait will be started, finished and shipped in that timeframe. If your piece is large or extremely complex this timeframe might need to be extended. To reserve your place on the waiting list a deposit of 200€ is required.
Please add the portrait reservation deposit to your shopping cart to continue with the portrait order and proceed to checkout. After the payment is confirmed, you will receive an email confirmation with the order number. I will contact you within 24-72 hours to personally discuss your piece, the size you want, see the pictures and generally discuss what you have in mind. It is very important for me to get to know the person who has commissioned a piece from me and to get to know or learn about the subject I will be painting. If when I contact you you don’t have the photographs ready, don’t worry, you can provide them to me at a later date.
The 200€ you pay now will be subtracted from the final price of the portrait. The remaining payment will be made when your turn on the list arrives and you are presented with a mock-up of the portrait. For example, if you book a portrait that costs 900€, you will pay a deposit of 200€ and the remaining 700€ will be paid when your turn on the list arrives and I present the mock up of the portrait. The deposit is non refundable as you are booking a space in my calendar that could be used by someone else.

What will I need from you?
Photo references & personality
After you’ve paid your deposit, I will need some photos of the subject you wish to have a portrait of, this could be a dog, a cat, a horse, a person, a bird etc. Or a combination of many. Having different photos from different perspectives will help to get an idea of how the subject looks. If you want to combine different subjects in the same portrait you can send me individual photos and I will place them together in the portrait. Photos should be (if possible) not too close, not too far from the subject and (if possible) at the same level of the pet. High quality photos are appreciated but not absolutely necessary, I have worked using low quality photos many times. If you don’t have many photos of the subject, or you are not sure of what to send just sent what you have . No worries! I have worked with many different types of photos, even if you only have one photo, I will find a way to create an amazing portrait. I will also need a description of the subject, something about their personality, story, anything you wish to share with me. Please send all the photos to email@example.com with your order number, or after purchasing the deposit simply answer the “completed order” email and I will know it’s you :).
Mock Up Creation
When your turn in the list arrives, I will create different mock ups using the photos you provided me with, using different compositions, perspectives, combination of different subjects (if it’s a multiple subject portrait), etc. I will also make adjustments in colours, eyes, source light, to make the portrait more interesting visually. I will propose up to 50 different background colours for you to choose the one that will go better in your home or the one that will suit your subject better.
Creation of the original
When we have confirmed the desired mock up is time for me to concentrate in the original. If you’ve booked your place for, let’s say, august-september that means the original portrait will be started, finished and shipped in that time frame. Keep in mind some portraits could take a little longer than expected. Art is a very subjective matter and at times can be difficult to calculate exactly how long one piece will take me this is why I prefer to give 2 to 3 months deadline. During the creation of the original I will be in touch sending weekly-monthly updates.
After confirmation that you are happy with your portrait I will proceed to ship it. The portrait is sent extremely well packaged and protected. I take great care and attention in my packaging process. My portraits arrive beautifully wrapped accompanied by a box Certificate of Authenticity, signed and dated both in the certificate and in the painting.
At the moment I find UPS Air to be an excellent shipping company. I’ve been using them for the last 5 years and I’ve never any issues. They are very reliable and extremely fast in their deliveries. Your portrait will have it’s own tracking number. For USA & Europe it takes 2 days. For Canada and Asia takes 3 to 4 days. For South America and Australia takes 4 to 5 days.
